Happy International Women’s Day

By JoAnn Flett | Executive Director – Center for Faithful Business

Today is International Women’s Day and I received a note from Aerlande Wontamo, Senior Vice President, US Programs, and Lanre Williams-Ayedun, Senior Vice President of International Programs for World Relief. I am blessed to serve on World Relief’s board in that it allows me an opportunity to learn from such amazing and talented women. It was also a reminder that in our “global village” our work affords us opportunities to interact with and learn from many remarkable women.

So, I’d like to invite you to reflect upon women who are having an impact in your “global village” and perhaps drop them a note of appreciation today, or sometime this week. In that vein, I’d like to share just a few colleagues whose faithful witness have impacted me this past year. Seattle Pacific University has many amazing colleagues.

The Center for Faithful Business at SPU has afforded me the privilege of working with remarkable women like Kate Barker, Kristine Robertson, Nicole Baker, Alexis Gillam, Kim Wilson, Bonnie Sellen, Helen Chung, Katy Tangenberg, Brenda Salter-McNeil, Caenisha Warren, Carlene Brown, Annie Kato, Geri Mason, Becky Mouw Johnson, Janet Hauck, Becky Tindall, Jennifer LaBrie, Lindsay Simpson, and Alison Estep. Whether serving on committees, co-teaching, event planning or stewarding the work of the Center for Faithful Business, it’s been a blessing to serve alongside each of these gifted women!

To my colleagues and sisters in Christ, Happy International Women’s Day!
